Terms and Conditions
1. No Asbestos based materials, Plasterboard, Batteries, Fridges, Chemicals, Televisions/ Monitors, Microwaves, Tyres, Fluorescent/sodium lamps, Gas Cylinders, Drummed or liquid waste. Or any waste deemed as hazardous by an absolute or mirror entry in the European Waste Catalogue (Article 1 (4) of the Hazardous Waste Directive 91/689/EC) or any waste deemed as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) (WEEE Regulations 2006). Such waste will be refused or subject to a surcharge.
2. Chilton Waste Services can provide designated containers and specialist removal services for some of the waste streams listed in item 1, however they can not be contaminated with any General Waste.
3. The hirer maintains responsibility for material placed in the skip.
4. The maximum time allowed for depositing or collecting containers is 20 minutes. If the vehicle is kept waiting longer than this after arrival, the hirer will be liable for any waiting time incurred.
5. If a skip is to be placed on the public highway Chilton Waste Services will arrange all appropriate permits and the provision of lights and or warning signs, for an additional charge. The hirer is responsible for notifying Chilton Waste Services of any maintenance required to lights and/or warning signs for the duration of the skip hire.
6. Skips will be charged for on delivery. Loaded skips will not be collected until Chilton Waste Services or its agent have received payment in full.
7. Unless otherwise agreed, the standard hire period is 14 days. The hirer will be liable for surcharges on a daily basis if they exceed this period and there is no activity with the container after 28 days.
8. The hirer shall ensure that the skip is not overloaded by weight or volume at the point of collection. Containers should only be a level load and not be loaded above the height of the container. Materials must not be used to increase the size of the skip. Chilton Waste Services reserves the right to refuse to collect overloaded skips and any costs incurred due to unsafe loads/ overloading (including wasted journeys) will be passed on to the hirer.
9. The lighting of fires in or near skips is strictly prohibited. The hirer will be liable for any loss or damage to the
container (excluding fair wear and tear) during the term of the skip hire period and will be charged the current
purchase price of the skip.
10. Please do not re-position skips after delivery. This may make it difficult to recover the full container. The hirer will be liable for any damage incurred.
11. Please ensure clear access is available on the day when skips are due for delivery, exchange or collection. If we are unable to access the site or are given incorrect delivery information, a wasted journey charge may apply.
